Position Description
The Communications Analyst installs, tests, maintains, enhances, configures, and plans major communication systems.
Position Requirements
Requires a foundation of computer science theory and practice, initiative, analytic skills, the ability to learn new concepts quickly and oral and written communications skills typically acquired by completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or equivalent work experience. Requires knowledge of the intra-component communication relationships between major software systems at a detailed level; the ability to recognize the existence of performance, reliability and processing problems; knowledge of basic statistical techniques; familiarity with procedures of the unit and Data Center; and knowledge of complex technical material acquired through a minimum of one year full-time work experience. Demonstrate strong customer service orientation and must be a team player.
The Communications Analyst position is in direct support of the Cloud Architecture and Administration team responsible for the support of cloud foundational services, tenant administration, and advancing cloud adoption within the organization focused on a portfolio of AWS Commercial, AWS GovCloud, Microsoft Azure/M365 core services, and Okta as core platforms to support.
Candidates should have a proven track record of interacting with stakeholders to understand scope/goals, and the ability to translate that into successful cloud-based solutions. Strong analytical skills, initiative, and ability to learn quickly and manage multiple tasks and technologies. Ability to work effectively within a team environment and independently. Excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communication and organization skills. Ability to translate analytic insights into concrete, actionable recommendations. Comfort in working in Agile project methodologies.
HIGHLY DESIRABLE: AWS and/or Microsoft Azure certifications. Agile or DevOps related certifications. Experience transitioning legacy systems to cloud-ready architecture. Experience in creating complex scripts with infrastructure as code (IaC) technologies, specifically; Terraform, Cloud Formation Templates, AWS CLI, PowerShell. Experience with route tables, access control lists, firewalls, NAT, HTTP, DNS, IP and OSI Network. Knowledge of RESTful Web Services, XML, JSON. Familiarity with government cloud deployments (AWS GovCloud, MS GCC, FedRAMP, FISMA, high security environments).

Expected to work unusual hours, including weekends.
