Position Overview

This position will be primarily responsible for creating a system of integrated tools, processes, and capabilities to manage strings (micro copy) and translations of mobile applications across platforms (including, but not limited to iOS, Android, various cloud platforms), disciplines (including, but not limited to product development, packaging and labeling, training, user support, and others) and functions (including, but not limited to R&D, commercial, packaging and labeling, clinical support, and others) within Insulet and with our translation partners.

Responsibilities


  • Develop new features and improvements for translation and transcription workflows within Insulet’s mobile applications, incorporating optical character recognition (OCR), computer-assisted translation (CAT), post-edited machine-translation, and speech-to-text.
  • Incorporate pre-translation, auto-translation, and pseudo-translation into translation workflows.
  • Work closely with system administrators and information technology (IT) staff, as required, to develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize translation workflows.
  • Ensure that their design is in compliance with Company policies and that software activities are appropriate for the design and maintenance of medical products by delivering appropriate documentation and executing required validation.
  • Provide test cases for translation and transcription workflows to meet Insulet’s quality assurance requirements as well as report and test fixes for bugs found by end users.
  • Maintain translation and transcription workflows as requirements change based on organizational roadmap.
  • Manage and integrate translations and transcription workflows with existing and new toolkits and software across the organization and with multiple translation vendors.
  • Incorporate translation and transcription workflows in existing automated framework.
  • Identify commercial tools for localization, including the identification of key issues to be considered during the localization process.
  • Assist in creation of workflow optimizations (scripts and/or macros) in various programming languages to automate repetitive tasks, to include file analysis, parsing, and filtering in translation management.
  • Assist in creation of translation files appropriate for the localization process within the organization and with translation vendors.
  • Train and support cross functional teams in the utilization of the developed translation and transcription workflows.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Requires a BS degree and 5 – 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 3 – 5 years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing a translation and transcription workflow in an automated framework.
  • 1+ years of software localization experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and grasp new concepts quickly.
  • Professional experience providing technical assistance to others who may be less technical and promoting the use of computer assisted translation (CAT) and other HLTs (Human Language Technology's) tools across the enterprise.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with mobile applications in both Android and iOS platforms, and Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile SDK
  • Strong technical background in working with python or java programming languages with demonstrated ability to search, parse, sort and categorize text.
  • Strong working knowledge of industry standard translation vendor workflows and translation tools for mobile applications.
  • Experience using translation memory software is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Implement, integrate and document a variety of software platforms through the REST API framework.
  • Strong exposure in implementing software automation framework solutions for web and mobile apps.
  • Familiarity with text similarity models and algorithms used to match similar but non-identical strings of varying length.
  • Proven experience working with automation and test management tools such as JIRA, ALM, Confluence, Helix.
  • Strong verbal and written communication tools, able to communicate at multiple levels of an organization.
  • Hands on and action-oriented self-starter who can work on complex projects with minimal guidance/oversight. Ability and willingness to create all project deliverables as needed.
  • Understanding and/or experience working in a medical device/Life Sciences company.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple teams, on concurrent projects.
  • Exposure to working with global project teams and/or products.

Additional Information

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $113,680.00 - $161,642.50. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
