First Databank (FDB) is currently seeking an Application Architect in the Software Development department. The Application Architect plays a critical role in the delivery of high-quality products to the healthcare industry. A successful incumbent will be able to demonstrate all essential functions to effectively design and construct Software Systems utilizing diverse technology sets while working within and across multi-functional, multi-location teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides insight into and knowledge of the latest application architectures, technology, solutions and industry trends
  • Works closely with team members to understand IT business requirements that drive the analysis and design of technical solutions in compliance with architectural blueprints and business strategies
  • Development, maintenance and integration of highly complex application software.
  • Understands and utilizes the methodologies, policies and procedures regarding data flow and in support the use of inheriting objects and modifying base components to maximize development time and consistency
  • Creates, uses, and promotes the use of development frameworks, tools, methodologies and procedures to reduce future coding efforts and increase functional consistency
  • Knowledgeable of design patterns and practices; implements highly complex logical database designs, logical data models and relational data definitions in support of corporate and customer information systems requirements
  • Documents and communicates application vision and creates application architecture proposals based on identified solution gaps
  • Provides application architecture advice, planning guidance, quality assurance guidance and guidance to development teams
  • Provides insight into and knowledge of the latest application architectures, technology, solutions and industry trends
  • Experience with and knowledge of software development life cycles and the activities that occur within lifecycles

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, Computer Science or Engineering preferred
  • Five years + Software Development experience
  • Three years + Application Architecture experience
  • Five years + Logical Data Model experience

Required Skills:

  • Very strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Great troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Desire and able to quickly learn new skills
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and negotiating skills
  • Highly competent in many of the following: Microsoft Visual Studio, .NET Core, ASP.NET Core, Microsoft WebAPI, C#, Java, XML, JavaScript, JSON, HTML, Web Services (REST), MySQL, Postgresql, NoSQL Databases, UML, Windows, Mac, Linux, Serverless, Docker Containers
  • Azure (preferred) or AWS Cloud
  • CI/CD

The reasonable estimate, if hired in Indianapolis is $111,000 - $130,000. Please note this information is specific to those hired in location. If this role is open to candidates outside of location, the salary range would be aligned to that specific location. A final decision on the successful candidate’s starting salary will be based on a number of permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to skills and experience, training, certifications, and education.
