The Enterprise Architect reports to the VP of IT Strategy & Governance and plays an integral role in building a holistic view and roadmap of the Company’s enterprise technology strategy, processes, and information technology. Partnering with both business and technology groups, this role provides the enterprise architecture capability and expertise required to ensure technology investments, initiatives, and projects can realize desired business benefits and create reusable corporate assets (data, solutions, and services).

What You’ll Do:

Architecture Development

  • Develop and maintain enterprise architecture models for business, data, integration, application, and infrastructure layers. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure technology solutions are in alignment with the enterprise architecture framework.
  • Develops and maintains policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure that a consistent framework is applied across the company. 
  • Coach and mentor other architects, product owners/managers, and business stakeholders to instill architectural thinking

Strategic Planning

  • Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture strategy that requires the integration of multiple technologies, addressing the interrelationships of multiple systems, and serving diverse business partners.
  • Provides vision and expertise on technology selection, implementation, and governance, ensuring technology investments and strategies align with business requirements.
  • Identifies and prioritizes opportunities that drive spending initiatives, optimization efforts, and the total spend of ownership strategies.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to ensure technology enables the business strategy and drives desired business outcomes.

Architecture Governance

  • Develop and maintain enterprise architecture governance processes and standards.
  • Assess the impact of proposed changes to enterprise architecture and provide recommendations.
  • Ensure the enterprise architecture is current, documented, and accessible to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Lead evaluation and selection of technology products and vendors that align with enterprise architecture standards.

Team Management

  • Manage the architects within specific capabilities and ensure the team’s work aligns with the enterprise architecture framework.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring on enterprise architecture concepts and practices to architects and other IT team members. 
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the architecture team and across IT.
  • Communicates "big picture" to Business and IT stakeholders at all levels of the organization to achieve alignment with architecture and roadmap.

Skills You’ll Need:

  • BS/BA in computer science or related, Master’s degree desirable, certifications in web-based technologies, Cloud, and project management a plus
  • 10+ years of IT architecture, data experience, and project management experience using waterfall and agile methods
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience in Architecture Strategy, Roadmap, and technologies
  • Experience designing, developing, and implementing architecture concepts and emerging technologies for large organizations.
  • Experience with cloud-based application architectures and developing architecture governance for hybrid on-premise and cloud environments.
  • Experience building strong relationships with stakeholders, IT leaders, architects, and project teams.
