Configuration Analyst

As a Configuration Analyst, you will assist the Senior Configuration Manager in ensuring that the performance, function, and appearance of our products are consistent. This involves managing the functional requirements, design, and operational information throughout each product's lifecycle. You will also develop migration plans and help oversee deployment. The Configuration Analyst is responsible for assisting the Senior Configuration Manager in overseeing the configuration management process of a project or organization. They assist in ensuring that software and hardware components are properly identified, tracked, and maintained throughout their lifecycle. A Configuration Analyst assists in establishing policies and procedures for configuration management, collaborates with cross-functional teams, and ensures compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. They are also familiar with tools and systems used in the configuration management process.
A Configuration Analyst will also work in close collaboration with the Senior Configuration Manager, as well as other departments and teams to meet the changing needs of the business.
Configuration Analyst Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and execution of Configuration Management (CM) processes throughout the project lifecycle, including development, migration, deployment, and security
- Assist in overseeing the daily management of configuration items
- Assist in the review and update of configuration management processes
- Assist in ensuring that IT staff members follow CM processes
- Assist in implementing hardware and software version control processes, policies, and procedures
- Understand basic concepts, and assist in documenting hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures
- Understand basic concepts, assist in maintaining and developing the environment for hardware and software product build, staging, testing and integration
- Assist in defining and implementing hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures, such as creating product build scripts and procedures, and integrating those scripts with the hardware and software build process
- Assist in implementing hardware and software version control processes, policies, and procedures
- Reviewing critical incident outage resolution results and responses and dispositions of failed changes due to issues related to the configuration management system (CMS)
- Participate in the Change Advisory Board (CAB) / Configuration Control Board (CCB) and enacting changes as directed
- Assist in accountability of all Configuration Items (CI)
- Understand logistical process and have experience in property (CI) accountability
What You’ll Need To Succeed
Education: Bachelor’s degree with a focus in business administration or a related field of study; or a bachelor’s degree with a focus in computer science, engineering, or a related field of study.
Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience.
Required Technical Skills
- Experience scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions
- Proven proficiency in analyzing, evaluating, and overcoming program risks across multiple project teams
- Experience with Government/Military programs
- Strong organizational skills
- Security Clearance: TS/SCI required
- Property accountability and reporting procedures
