The Global RISE Cloud Advisory Team is part of SAP’s Customer Success organization. Within this team we are looking for highly motivated and customer-focused team members to build out a new global Cloud Architecture & Advisory team (CAA) focused on supporting our strategic Commit-2-Consume customer base across the life of their subscription contract. The Cloud Architect Advisor is subject matter expert, acting as the primary point of contact for all technical topics related to a RISE with SAP S/4HANA private cloud deployment from a customer perspective. This new team will span several topics, including the ongoing support of technical assessments, commercial pricing, and the technical side of customer draw-down (check-out) processes throughout their subscription process. They will be responsible for managing our support and engagement with customers beyond the initial deal and Sales2Delivery Handover, working in close collaboration with Enterprise Cloud Services, Cloud Success Services, and partner teams to drive successful customer outcomes along their RISE with SAP cloud transformation journey.

What You Will Do

This is a customer facing role where you will support the sales, delivery, and customer success teams during the entire cycle of a Commit-2-Consume cloud deal and across the life of the subscription contract. Following are the key tasks that this role will perform:

  • Advise customers on the SAP private cloud service and operational model, including roles & responsibilities, technical and infrastructure architecture, cybersecurity and network integration topics
  • Assess the technical feasibility of the customer’s requirements against SAP’s reference architecture and advise on best practice standards and hyperscaler platform requirements to support commercial pricing with other members of the Virtual Account Team
  • Transition customer technical requirements to SAP Enterprise Cloud Services for system provisioning and delivery
  • Communicate and engage with customers and their partners (usually to CIO’s, IT managers, data center managers and SAP Technology staff) via technical workshops and discussions
  • Support all technical aspects of a customer’s iterative drawdowns (or check-outs) from their committed fund, including change requests and upsells where a customer exceeds their fund envelope.

What You’ll Bring

  • Customer empathy – an ability to exchange information with customers 1:1, in discussion teams or in presentation mode with clarity and an outward desire for successful outcomes
  • Community management/collaboration – an ability to communicate to and among multiple stakeholders and team members in time-sensitive and deadline-driven situations
  • A keen desire to expand your knowledge quickly and apply new learnings in a fast moving environment in support of customers technical, commercial and operational cloud transformations
  • An understanding of industry standard platform stacks (i.e. storage, virtualization, hardware, networks etc.) and cloud operating models
  • Knowledge of the technical architecture of large cloud run companies, enterprise offerings, hyperscaler platforms is beneficial
  • Understanding of complex and/or Enterprise Cloud software solutions (releases, platform interdependencies etc.) including cloud operational aspects (Application and Technical) is beneficial
  • Fluency in English is required- and any other language is an asset


  • Tertiary degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Business Administration required from an accredited university or equivalent institution
  • 3+ years of customer facing SAP Consulting experience is an advantage
  • 3+ years of solution design, enterprise architecture and/or SAP implementation is an advantage
  • Experience in a customer facing pre-sales role is an advantage
  • Experience with SAP solutions (S/4HANA, SAP BTP), Infrastructure Providers (Amazon AWS, Google GCP, Microsoft Azure etc.), SAP Premium Suppliers and/or customer data centers is an advantage
  • Cybersecurity & Compliance expertise is an advantage
  • SAP Application Lifecycle Management and or SAP Operations experience is an advantage
  • ITSM, Service Design & Delivery experience/knowledge is an advantage
  • SAP HANA and S/4 HANA skills are an advantage

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 98,300-167,100 USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
